According to the European consumer group BEUC, the privacy policies of big enterprises including Facebook, Google, Apple, Microsoft and Amazon do not fulfill the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). BEUC has analysed the privacy policies of these companies and has concluded that they are vague and unclear. The privacy policies would provide inadequate information for users to judge what there are agreeing to.

The director general of BEUC has pointed out the importance of a closer inspection by the enforcement authorities.
